the unique of masjid tengkera


The second oldest mosque in Malacca was the Lamb which is located on the right side of Sheep Street name taken in conjunction with the county name Tenquerah by the Portuguese in Malacca .

The original building is believed to be built around 1750 's and was repaired in the 1850s. The mosque is a traditional architectural features architectural mix of Malacca and Sumatra and China .

This mosque has a little different because it has three layers of roof veranda roof , roof dome and roof worship space .

At the front of the mosque is lined with stone walls and porcelain decorated lattice gates decorated with calligraphy carved and shaped like a pagoda roof .

There is also a stone tower with a roof of clay around the bottom . Another state's oldest mosque is Masjid Peringgit .

Originally it was built in Peringgit Hill in 1726 , but it was destroyed by war. Later it was rebuilt in 1868 in the same place .

The mosque is unique because a square , while construction materials consisting of laterite stone and terra cotta bricks which existed during the Dutch as the foundation and walls .

In 1978 , the state government has made additional work on the back of the mosque with a fade concrete stairway leading , wells and ponds.
